Pancakes will be held on October 4, 2008 from 9 AM to 1 PM.
As is tradition, the event will be held on the South Lawn of the University of Virginia.
Pancakes for Parkinson's was founded in 2004 with the idea that the community here at UVA could come together and in one morning, make an indelible mark on the international fight against Parkinson's Disease. Our vision was that for one day every fall semester students would decorate the historic Lawn, serve free pancakes, educate people about Parkinson's disease, and collect donations to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Collectively over the last four years we have raised over $100,000 and served thousands of people pancakes. This year we hope to send a check to the Foundation for $60,000. This organization is incredible and although we know our goal is lofty we have the utmost confidence that we will reach, if not even exceed, it this year.
Pancakes is already the second largest annual fundraising event at UVA and growing exponentially. We are always in need of new volunteers and support for the cause. Please check out our Volunteer section for information on volunteering or pitch in by credit card or in-kind donations.
